Default So who flinched with the gas thing?

My wife called me up thursday night all frantic to get me to fill with gas. All the stations were packed. My wife wanted to go out on a rainy thursday night to fill up her civic (which had a 5 day lasting half tank of gas left).

I bet her a case of beer that it was all hysteria, and that the prices wouldn't budge over the weekend. I got pretty drunk last night.

Anyone else?

I had 2 bars left that day so I went out at lunch to avoid having to get it on the way home.

Got it at 104 with no line up. EVERY station on the way home was packed

Exactly! With a civic, you would save, what ................................ 10 bucks on 1/2 a tankfull? So if it goes up, how much is this in terms of % of overall annual savings? And this would apply (the % thing) even if you drove a huge SUV.
Do it out of principle if you must but don't do it to save a few bucks.
Ain't hype and paranoia wonderful?

ps. I'll bet there are lots of people who will drive 30 miles to the other side of town because they'll save 2 bucks on a pair of pants from Army/Navy.

pps. I'm not saying sky rocketing fuel prices is a good thing nor is it a reasonable thing. I'm just saying we shouldn't go nuts about it at the pumps.
