I just mounted Sumitomo HTRZ111, they look to be a real good tire. It's there top of the line tire, for an excellent price compared to others.

Hows the treadlife on these compares to s02? Price difference cheaper more expensive? I dont mind having a tire with a little less performance then s02's but I deff want more treadlife.

I run RE-01R's. They seem to be great even in this colder spring weather.

reo1r is probably one of the top tires you can get for performance out there.. but it is one of the more expensive tires as well.

ad07 is also up there but again, very expensive.

rt-615 is an amazing tire, priced very well too.. but its a hazard in the rain.. seriously..

all the above are good choices but sizing is where you will run into a problem..
i would suggest the hankook rs2's as they are the best bang for the buck and compete well with the above tires.. and the plus side of this tire is they make them in the 245/45/16 size for the ap1 which is perfect.
im gettin the rs2's in a few weeks

not sure why you would be so worried about treadlife on a car like this with such tires - given i thought most ppl didn't drive it year-round, thus your tires should last longer anyways, using them only May-Nov or so (least thats what i do). plus, it's an enthusiasts car, thus a true enthusiast won't care about treadlife on their s2k so stop worrying and just go for it

but seriously - the RE01R has surprsingly excellent treadwear for a summer high perf tire! like i said, i've utilized it 1 autox and 4 lapping days and it still has more than enough tread (mind u 2 lapping days were in rain, so that helped lots, and i manage my tires on hot days). but on the street (only) you would see lots of time with them.

i would think the advan AD07 are the same but this is even more expensive. the hankook RS2 seems to be the best bang-for-the-buck tire out right now and wears prob the slowest. the RT615 prob wears quickest (from my exp).

else, check into the new toyo R1R - i've heard good things about it and i think pricing comes in under RE01R, and im sure treadwear is similar if not better.

there is always S-03 as well, S-02 still good but had their day...both are still pricey as they are an "OEM" based tire that maybe give up juuuust slightly on pure high performance (vs those mentioned above)...to give a lil more comfort...but they still do the job better than most tires out there.

With the way the EURO / USD exchange rate is right now, I don't know why anyone would ever purchase a Michelin tire right now. The prices are just insanity for the PS2's, and the RE-01R is proven to be a better tire across the board in most cases.

If you are looking for a direct comparison to the PS2's, you might want to try the Bridgestone RE050A PP. The PS2 is probably slightly better as a daily driver, but with a cost of up to 30 to 40% more, why bother?
