Few hundred bucks for Vista, couple thousand for a solid Mac.

The days of me buying computer parts and components just to keep up with the cutting edge is long gone. I use my computer for a few things: PC Client softphone, MS Office, Messenger, Photoshop, some casual video editing, and a couple office DB apps. Not terribly resource intensive.

Like I said once before, I could be a Mac user in a year or two, but until my hardware isn't doing what I need anymore, I'm not upgrading to anything, PC or Mac.

Photoshop isn't resource intensive?
Right now I can barely figure out what I'm typing because I have photoshop open. If I was burning a DVD as well, forget about it, I wouldn't even be on the computer
In defense of your arguement though, I'm running only 512mb of ram on a 3 year old P4 machine...

same boat here - recently switched to MAC with a MacBook Pro.

So far I'm liking it - downloaded NeoOffice for free - that'll do everything I need for a office suite.

so mr. mac guru....

question... I want a computer/tv for my new kitchen. Should i get a 24" imac or a mac mini and a 24" dell monitor and save about $500 bux or more? (also, which TV tuner should i get? one with a ATSC HTDV tuner would be prefered)
