Shipping and C.O.D

So i am going to ship something to quebec and the buyer asked if it was ok to pay thru COD with the shipping company, now my question is how does C.O.D work..is it safe on both ends? i want him to get the item but i also want to get my money without getting jipped.. Anyone know how it works? any help would be great

Its pretty safe as long as he doesn't reject the package once it gets there. At that point the package is returned to you and you have to absorb the shipping costs and the COD fee if there is one. If I were you, I would ask for the shipping costs upfront and COD for the rest of the amount.

you get paid after, when the package will arrive the guy will paid the total and after that the postal service(or the company you deal with) will send you a cheque.

COD is generally safer for the buyer. Lets say he sends money and the Seller doesn't ship the item? He's pretty much screwed. If it's COD, he pays before the shipping company delivers the item. Only downside is that if he decides he doesn't want it, the Seller loses out on the money he spent to ship it in the first place. This is why I would ask for the shipping costs up front and the rest of the money can be paid COD to the courier. Just specify not to accept personal cheques if at all possible. Cash or money order would be the best and I would push for those.
