scared to park my s2k because of dents and nicks
Hey guys,
i had another thread on daily driving an s2k as i was thinking of purchasing a beater car. The reason why i'm so paranoid to drive my s2k everywhere is because i absolutely hate dents and dings when parking it somewhere. With my luck, i can almost be assured that i'll have a dent on my s2k sometime soon. Anyone have any suggestions as to how i can over come this dilemna i have. No smart comments please

park as far as possible from others
i.e. avoid clusters of cars together and don't mind the long hike
sometimes these kinda things are inevitable, just remember that it's a car at the end of the day
in general though, after you get your first dent/nick, you'll be emo for a few days then you'll get over it

I agree that dents/dings suck but if you worry to much you wont enjoy the car
I just try to park next to curbs if its available, or park a bit further away but its bound to happen no matter what

I used to fix every single nick/dent, but its just too time/money consuming.
I learned to cope with it. Well I still park my car further in general, I don't mind the hike.

thanks for taking the time to respond guys. I dunno i guess i'm just paranoid with my cars like that. I'm gonna give it a shot and try not to worry too much but if it gets out of hand then i'll bite the bullet and get a grocery getter.

i totally relate to where you're coming from. this kind of anxiety is normal if this is your first time owning a 'hawt' / 'highly stolen car'
just park the car, walk way and handle your shit. you have insurance right? insurance is supposed to alleviate this kind of stress and it'd be silly if you let it bother you from fully enjoying your car.
you can't control your environment or any external stimuli. if things are going to happen, things are going to happen. the more you think about it, the more paranoid you're gonna get it. and it may even inadvertently become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
i was like this for the first few weeks or so cuz it was my first car but then i stopped giving a crap. i haven't washed my car in three years, i always park with the top down unless it's raining, and, i've left a few of my attained blemishes unfixed. that's how i roll. life is good
i hope you ultimately enjoy your car and get maximum utility out of it

I always park far away. have had the car for 6years or so and only have one door ding. Got it the second day i had it. I didnt get it fixed cause everytime i get dents fixed something else always replaces it.
