Sato Speaks out about BAR-Honda F1
Takumo Sato's Speaks out !
"..BAR is not ready to win a grand prix.." Japanese team driver Takuma Sato admitted in Melbourne.
He told reporters on the banks of the Yarra that Honda-powered '007' "..might be up to the task of beating Renault, McLaren and Ferrari -- by June or July.."
Now there's some inspiring talk.. I wonder if he wants to leave the team ?
I wonder what Button would say to that ? or what Red Ohio Rocket would say as he has him poised to be wdc for '05 ?

My only hope is Renault can start off the season strong and get some points right away. It seems to me that McLaren has a history of starting off the season really slow, but when they get going they seems to really start racking up the points fast.
Last year was such a strange season because of the complete and utter domination by Michael and Ferrari. I don't suspect we will see that again so I'm hoping Renault can be a strong dependable car so they can do as well as they can with their drivers lineup.
It deeply saddens me to hear Sato trashing BAR Honda, in fact it saddens me when ever I hear a driver speak down upon his team in public. Maybe when Michael retires he can conduct classes for the other drivers on how to not be an ass in the media...

I personally don't think Renault have a chance to compete with the likes of Maclaren, Williams or BAR, but i guess that's just me....
What's with the BAR drivers speaking too much? Damn! Maybe it was mis-construed by that ruthless english media.

Renault beat McLaren and BMW last year and was a very close third behind BAR? If that does not clearly show Renault can compete I have to conclude you are no longer looking at the facts and your admiration for Honda/BAR has completely clouded your vision.
01 FERRARI, 262
02 BAR, 119
03 RENAULT, 105 (14 pts behind BAR, 17 pts ahead of Williams, 36 pts ahead of McLaren)
04 WILLIAMS, 88
05 McLAREN, 69
06 SAUBER, 34
07 JAGUAR, 10
08 TOYOTA, 9
09 JORDAN, 5
10 MINARDI, 1

Most of those points came early in 04'. They struggled a lot towards the end. If it wasn't for those blistering starts and grid position, they would not even be noticed...

But they were noticed, and they did beat McLaren and they did beat Williams therefore they were and I believe still capable of being competition.
To not like them is fine, but to say they can't compete with two teams they won over is just a very strange use of the English language...
