Is the S2K THAT bad of a foul weather car?

I drove in the rain a few times already, stupid weather
and have not had any problems. Not sure how much better the RE050's are in the rain compared to S02/03's.. and of course my tires are 6 weeks old.

Bottom line. You just have to be careful with it and resist the urge. And KNOW the car. How it reacts when the end comes out. What to do.
I have near bald rear S-02's and I made it in this rain. It was like driving on ice in the rear and dry pavement in the front which made for an interesting drive. But I took my time and was fine.

The biggest challenge is that the car offers so much grip i the dry, many drivers don't adujst their driving style adequately when its wet.
If there is an exit on you commute that you can take easily at 120 in they dry, it's hard to imagine that you might be pushing the limits by taking it at 60 or 70 on a rainy day.
As to driving on the white stuff, your defensives are already way up and you might tiptoe around the same ramp at closer to 30 - 40.

This car is as BAD as each driver's OWN understanding of HIS/HER OWN limitations (in skill) when combined with HIS/HER understanding of the car's limitations (based on current condition and equipment) as applied to the motoring environment in which HE/SHE operates said car.
In other words, the S2000 can be the BEST car on a wet or snow/ice covered road or it can the WORST car depending on who's driving it and in what condition the car is in.
While those who have great success driving this car in the most adverse of conditions don't stand out much, the few who crash and burn on a slightly wet road surface using bald tires are the ones we always hear about - thus the perception that the S2000 is a dangerous foul weather car. It is these people who should have a restriction on their licences: AWD vehicle with rain tires in summer and snow tires in winter ONLY! MUST BE TESTED FOR COMMON SENSE EACH SEASON!
