S2000 in the winter???????
i am in the process of purchasing a s2000, the only problem is that i HAVE to drive it through the winter, i am planning on putting coilovers and rims on it for the summer and putting good winter tires on the factory rims for the winter. I am wondering how they are in the snow?...any certain tires i should buy for the winter? what kind of prcedure should i do before the bittery, snowy, cold winters...ie rustproofing, etc????...thanx for you input!!

This car is fine in the winter. There are like 6 of us in Calgary alone that drive the S2000 in winter.
A lot of people like Blizzaks. I've had great success w/ Toyo Garit HT.

I have Toyo winter tires on 02 S2000 for the past winter, I just use lowering spring for winter and coilover for summer. The car runs great when is only 5-10cm of snow, if more than that, I prefer to park your car in the garage!!!!
This is the picture when it is snow storm.
This is the picture from last summer, and there is some mods this summer, pictures will coming soon.

all you need are winter tires....a hardtop would be nice too, but not a necessity...
i've driven mine for the past 3 winters....
it's great that you're doing coilovers....in the winter, just raise the car a bit to help remove snow accumulation while driving.

ps. If you don't have one already, get an engine block heater and use it anytime you park outside and it's colder than about -10*C. No need for rust proofing as the factory did a pretty good job on this. You might consider putting on the 3M Scotchcal film on the front to protect against rock chips, maybe even along the bottom edge of the sides of the car, too. It goes by the name of Expel, Stongard, etc.
In preparation for winter, you might want to run a 5W30 oil for easier cranking in the cold. Also, silicone spray all your rubber boots under the car. There are 6. Treat all your rubber roof seals, too. Put down some winter floor mats. Brush the snow off your car "gently".
