If you are burning that much you have an issue . I would do a compression test and see where your issue is . If your rear bumper is getting soot coated your car probably has a blowby problem

Yea obviously i wont be just throwing more oil in because it could be down..thats why i said its a good idea to check the level. Im sure all cars will burn oil differently based on the driver.

And curious question..how much weight do you think you will save going from storing a gallon to a quart?

Mine burns oil for sure, the last owner said if you use conv. oil it burns less oil than synthetic. Which probably makes sense because conv. oil is supposed to be 'thicker' in some way. My friends dad has used conv. oil since owning his S and he's got over 100K Kms on his and has has no problems with his car.
Have you tried just switching to conv oil?

Prob a noob question, but if the car isn't burning that much oil (or none at all) the exhaust and the muffler would still be black wouldn't it?

^ yes, can still get black over time simply due to the deposits from your exhaust gases (and maybe even from the type of gas you use), and depending on how tuned (or un-tuned) your car is (ie. if you're running rich, you'll see even more black).

after about 2000 KM's my oil is down to the low mark and i have to put in almost another quart to get it back to the top. my car is an 03 with 39,000km's on it. and i'm synthetic as well.

on sweeping right turns i.e. highway entry, try not to be in vtec or flooring it, seems to burn oil under those circumstances

I VTEC through EVERY turn, left and right, and never drop below 6000 RPM unless I'm coasting or idling. I also burn through about 1L of oil every 2 to 3 hours. I usually have to add a litre once a day but I only make about 20-30 short trips of 10-40 minutes in length a year. A full tank of gas only lasts me 45-50 minutes.

Why? Is that a problem?
