my s2000 keeps burning oil i dont know what to do about it i have tired lucus and other things anyone know somehing eles i can try? or do to make it stop

Is there oil staining the motor?
Any puddles under the car?

If the oil actually appears to being burnt or consumed and not leaking through a seal or gasket then that is normally a sign of excessive ring ware.

I was told that because the S2K motor is a performance motor it will NATURALLY burn oil. I was told that i should expect approximetly 2 bottles of oil to be burnt up between oil changes so you need to keep an eye on your level.

If it is burning more oil than that i would suggest getting it looked at.

a dlr can do an oil consumption test for you (or you can do it yourself). basically do an oil change+filter, make sure it's topped up to the top of the dipstick line (measure when the motor is cold and the car is on a flat parked surface). drive your car as you normally would for 1000KM give or take 100KM and then check your oil level. you can of course check it during this period up to 1000km as well to see how it's doing.

Im not 100% if it's 1000km....maybe even 1500km, but 1000km seems right...and it's a good even number to work with. anyways, check your oil at the 1000KM mark to see how much you've lost/burnt. the key part is of course how much you have lost (or more importantly how many litres you have to ADD) to re-top it up back to the starting point 1000km ago.

Honda has a limit for each of their cars (in general) but the s2k may have different standards cause it does burn more than a typical Honda car. So check to see if your car used/burnt oil above or below this limit, then you know if you're motor is ok or not. [ie. if you burnt 1L off in 1000km you're still ok, but anything more than that...yeah there is a problem].

2L of oil burnt is to much between oil changes for a normal good s2k (this is going by the 'severe driving conditions' standards that Honda uses which is oil change every 6000KM because of our conditions in TO), for 6000km, I think you shouldn't be burning more than 1L if that. I mean yes the s2k burns it, but not that much. Also depends on how much time you spend over 6K rpm...if it's alot (ie. lapping, etc.) then yes you will burn up that faster.

FYI, ap2's shouldn't burn oil. well an amount hardly noticable, unless your lapping frequently... so CR EH don't be adding oil and overfilling thinking your car is burning.

ap1's on the other hand are notorious for burning oil

I have an AP1 and the most I've lost between oil changes is about 2 X marks' worth [that's about 1/3 of a small bottle I think], but that's from about 4-5 lapping days.

When I was driving this car daily, I redline quite often (in first and 2nd - getting on highways, etc.) and there's no noticeable oil consumption between oil changes ever. My oil changes interval are pretty long - maybe 4-5 months or so and sometimes driving 7-8000 km before doing so.

I put 7000-8000 km before a change, most I put in is 1L before a oil change

I have a 2001 that with 33k miles the car uses from 1 to 2 quarts between oil changes . My brother has a 2006 and his uses the same . The S2000 is going to use oil depending on how hard you drive the car . I check the oil every 100 miles or so to make sure it is topped off . DO NOT OVER FILL . overfilling the oild to let it burn down just so you do not have to check it often will cause the cam and crank seals to blow out . The S2000 using up to 2 quarts of oil between oil changes is very normal though .

His car is brand new and with the new cars they will use some . My brothers 2006 burned 2 quarts before the first oil change . My brother is not as an aggressive drive as I am .
