Simon, i saw you more as a Andy Hampston type.

Henesse, I'm sure you can lure out Simon if you promise him a fresh batch of John Tesh for his walkman.

You've never ridden in a criterium in a pack or drafted in an echelon. Anything but boring.

Then again, MTB downhillers are completely f'in insane...

Thats the only good part about watching road biking.

All that road rash if the leading pack messes up

Cycling is my sport. I started racing in 85 (mountain bikes) and raced road and mountain bikes from 87-90, just road from 91-93, and mtn bikes in end of 93 to 96.

I was a member of the Canadian National Cycling Team (road racing) in Senior Men from 91-93 when I got sick and retired from road racing (did not make Olympics in 92, but over half my cycling team made the Olympic squad in 92). Unfortunately the sport is very hard to get into and work vs. financial reward is crazy. From there I went to mountain bike racing (shorter distances) and was pretty competitive on the National scene for a couple of seasons and did fairly well in some World Cup events.

Now I just ride a few times a week on the road and mtn. Definitely not in anywhere near the shape I was 10 years ago, now it is strictly for enjoyment. But I do organize mtn bike events for a living, visit www.chicoracing.com for info.

One career highlight for me was getting invited to a Pro Race in Montreal in 91. I got to race against Lemond, Bauer and Miguel Indurain.

It is funny because I got to race against many riders that I've seen make the Tour De France over my short career.

Anyways those were the toughest days of my life and in 92 I raced 100 races and I was only 19!
