I would give you these to look up:

Beaches (natural / laid back)
Annex (closer to downtown/university)
Queen Street West (artsy but more fringe)
King Street West (up and coming)

There are a lot of great neighborhoods in Toronto, it really depens on budget, whether or not you want a house or condo, etc.
, the other I would add is Harbourfront (it would probably be my personal first pick).

On your link click on central then C1 again. As you can see, you could be right on the lake .

Actually, detached homes start around 500k, semi's (new development like Dave's 600k, older mature homes approx 400k)

Condo market is about 200K for a 1bdroom, 280+ for 2 bedroom or more.

But hey, its all just Canadian dollars right?

Thanks for all of the responses everyone! I wasn't expecting to get this much feedback so quickly.

I'm planning to make the move sometime between July-September if everything goes as planned. Is there a certain time of the year to move out there to find the best prices or does it even matter?

Move to Ottawa instead, you get the smaller town atmosphere anywhere with the big town events downtown.

The people are friendlier here as well, and houses are WAY cheaper. Cost of living is about 1/2 of Toronto.

Of course it's colder here in the winter (although not much), Toronto is 3.5-4hrs away.

Although I'm not sure why anyone would leave the US for Canada if you won't get the canadian benefits, we are taxed to freakin' death. I'd move to Burmuda

Why would you even suggest Toronto Jr.? Toronto is where it's at.
