Sh!t, I was lazy and left the battery in the S over the winter.. Should I take it out and charge it anyway?

Well heard that if the battery is partially discharged, you should not "recharge it" by driving the car but by doing it properly with a battery charger.

Jarek, it just puts a higher load on the alternator...if you've got a charger, it won't hurt to slap it on....

would a partially discharged battery crank?

i wouldn't think so.....therefore you would know right away to slap a trickle on it (or not).

Sure it would, so long as it has enough current capacity to turn the engine over. Now if partially is more towards dead - no.

The battery in your car is partially discharged as you type....I guess your not getting home -

believe me when i say you're more right than wrong.....

car died as i pulled into my parking spot @ work (i'm not kidding).

but, i know what the problem is...and it's not the battery.
