S pods are a waste of 500bux or whatever they sell them for.... to have speakers directly behind your head is wrong for correct soundstage and imaging. Your better off spending that money on a good head unit and upgraded front speakers.....and maybe a sub/amp in the trunk

I added rear speakers using Rick's advice in the link below:
Rear speaker installation.

It was easy! Just print out the picture of the panel and cut your's the same. I even reversed the panel picture to cut the opposite side. Careful measuring and observation of the panel pictures make the job easy. I used a scroll saw for the cutting.

The sound of the Kenwood speakers could improve however. I would use them as a guide and shop for better sounding speakers of the same size.

Did a custom install of headrest speakers last year. Similar to S pods but something way less expensive when you do it yourself. It's all documented at

Sure man... you need the speakers first to make the template. I had 6.5" before with neodymium magnets that fit fine.

Well if you guys are doing this in the summer that would be great to have the WISE and EXPERIENCE help the NEWBIE's out in this area....

I saw the site where the heck you guys find this stuff!!! DANG!!!! Thanks...I might get itchy and do it ....ahahhahha WINTER BOREDOM!
