Rear ended on the 404 (Pics)
I was hit this past friday at lunch.
Was on the 404 southbound (6 lane highway) stopped just north of sheppard due to heavy traffic.... this chick in a mazda protege nailed me into a girl driving a Mercedes ML500 pushing the front of my car under the rear of the ML500.
I was about half a car from the ML500 when i was completely stopped, then seen the mazda coming in my rearview. I looked at my escape options which = 0 so i just stood on the brake and waited for the WHAM.
Pay attention out there. This girl obviously wasn't paying attention because she hit me at about 20-30Kph (12-20mph)
I'm surprised at the little amount of damage visible for such a hard impact.
From behind you can't really tell anything at all. Her front license plate fit right into the recessed part of my rear place without even touching. The trim piece on her front bumper and the mid section of my rear bumper took all of the impact. So it was a bumper to bumper hit.
You can see here that the emblem is all scratched up and it's very loose. So is the front bumper, and it's pushed down further than the edge of the hood.
Then from this angle you can see that the hood is dented (front edge is curled up like a duck bill ). Not too bad but beyond repair I'd say.
And lastly this shot. Take a look along the edge of the hood and you can see its rippled. There's no way they'll be able to fix that back to normal.
Hopefully there's no damage underneith at all. This car is solid. I can attest to that much

gawd... at least you are ok... would you be going thru insurance?
bumper can be used only once for safety reasons (just like helmets)... i guess you will need a new front and back

Thanks mike... It could have been a whole lot worse. Lucky in a sense.
Mannn thanks for the tip. I never thought of that with the one time use for safety reasons.
