Re: Street Racing Story On City

It's also in the paper / news because it's sensationalism, people like good juicey stories. They would never post the other side of the story that wouldn't be good entertainment.
The news is by-far the worse offenders in these crimes
In Ottawa the cops pull you over if you have an exhaust, it's their vendeta, whatever floats there boat, it is rather annoying to those guys, but some do deserve it.
There's actually a case under review that happened sunday here in Ottawa. Young punk (happens to be black) gets pulled over for being an asshat, "apprently" they detain him for 1 hour and give him a ticket for 1 burnt license plate light, even though the other worked. He then started recording the conversation with the cop, and asked him what his badge number was.
Cop answers: "666"
Kids is sueing the cop for racism.

I think I've only gotten pulled over once which was 3 days after I got the car. It was our bad though because my friends and I had pulled into a plaza that just so happened to be FnF territory. They wanted to give me a ticket for my exhaust even tho it was stock.
My car's not illegally modded in anyway right now so getting pulled over is not such a big issue. That said, it would be annoying at times because it means the following 30 minutes will be tied up.

I have actually had a cop just ask me questions at a light.
"Is that really a honda?" etc....
Never been pulled over for shits and giggles in an s2000 yet but i have in the rsx i had a few years ago. It was not just a "can i see your license/reg/ins".

I think they should have 10x the cops they do on the streets. Pull people over left and right. For anything. Basically do what they did in NY back in the 80s.
That city is way better off for it. J-walk? Pull out your ID. Litter, ID and heres a ticket.
While they were harrassing people for J walking, they found murderers in hiding, people with guns, people with outstanding warrants, etc...
So pull all those ricers over. Pull me, Vince, Mike, Kneemish, Marco, Simon, pull us all over. We will be on our way in minutes while maybe some of trash will be hauled in the meantime.

I.E. you think my stock headlights are too bright..
I think that's what he's getting at. Not the fact that you can "actually" get pulled over. But the un necessary issuing of tickets.
