QUESTION ABOUT: Toronto Subway
Having lived in New York City I know all about that cities subway. It was not clean, but it worked well and was open 24/7 for the most part.
Is the Toronto subway user friendly?
How would you describe it?
Is it open all the time?
Specifically I'm interested in using the Yonge-University-Spadina subway. From Dundas/Yonge intersection down to Union/Front and back.
What can you tell me?

Its open pretty much from 6AM to 1AM. Regular, reasonably clean, works pretty well. Those stations are indoors.
Thats a short jaunt though, maybe 2 minutes. Could walk it outside in about 5 minutes, inside in the path in about 10.
Lemme guess. Your giving into your longing to become a Canadian, and your thinking of communting via the GO.

I'm thinking of trying a different Hotel for my annual end of February visit.
I normally walk everywhere but if it is really windy and cold I want to know about alternates, and I'm not into cabs.
So how easy is the underground path to figure out?
Do you enter that the same way you enter the subway?

Subway is awesome. It just needs to go more places.
Path is pretty easy, but you can get disoriented. But your a witty guy, Doug, you'll figure it out. PATH joins up with the subway stations often, and is easy to enter.

HHH,
Your trip is a very short subway ride. It's the 3rd stop after you get on... you can walk outside down Yonge, and it will take you about 10 minutes. There is also an underground route (called the "PATH") filled with stores, food courts, shops, etc. that will take you the whole way as well. That's a little more winding and will probably take you 15 minutes. The underground way is also a little confusing, but you just gotta follow the signs.

Whoops guess you got all this information before.. just read the other posts.. =)
Path is pretty easy to figure out. Walk it a few times and you'll know it like the back of your hand.. its good to know which general direction you're headed while you're down there.
