Default PRICE OF US MONEY!

OMFG!!!
I put a bill on my Visa and it was 1.22 for each dollar!

Granted, I am paying probably a 2 or 4 cent premium to do it thru Visa but still, the price of US money is EXPENSIVE!

When I bought my car for 15 000.00 it cost me $150.00

Keep this in mind for anyone wanting to import/export cars!

I used to ive in upstate, ny, and we would often visit toronto, we would get 1.35 CA for a us dollar ( 2001). Last year, canadian currency was worth more than ours, we were getting like 90 cents (CA)to a US dollar.

From my calculations, if I were to buy my car today from the US, I would have had to spend over $3k more. I'm glad I pulled the trigger when our dollar was around parity with the US.

I'm guessing you didn't buy your car when the $ was near parity. Otherwise, you really got a deal for your AP2 at $16k?

I'm assuming 0.8 exchange rate so the equation would be x=4y, where y is the amount of your savings and x is your purchase price.

Yup, you saved over $4400.

The real question is, what kind of premium can we realistically add on if we wanted to sell our car?

the reason s2k's were so cheap in the first place was because they were so easy and inexpensive to import considering our CDN$.

Now, the CDN $ isn't good and it's no longer worthwhile to import. As we all know, the majority of s2k's are currently in the USA mind you quite a few have been imported to Canada since our dollar began to rise.

At this time, the value of our cars are as much as others here in Canada.
