Default Please HELP, got ripped off by someone in Canada

About a month ago I purchased a set of taillights through an ad that this guy had on his eBay auction. I contacted the user and asked if he can sell me his extra set. I then paid him $180.00 via paypal. After 30 days, I have not received my taillights and the seller claims that he shipped it out. He gave me a tracking number (canada post) that was untrackable. I filed a complaint against him via paypal to get me my money back, paypal determined that he was at fault but was not able to recover any funds from his account.

Does anyone happen to know this person?

[Removed by request - IB Jason]

To anyone who could assist on this matter I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank You.

Dude, you sure that tracking # is not valid??

Here's the scoop in tracking #'s via canada post. They work WITHIN Canada, when it gets to the US, it no longer works, when you get the package, a few days later on the website you'll see you got it.

Stupid YES, shippers fault no.

I would wait a big longer, things going to the US can be stuck in customs, 30 days is not long enough to wait, seriously could take longer. I know it sucks.

On the other hand this guy could have screwed you, but I would call Canada Post with your tracking number and ask them what's going on.

you many have to spend the time calling canada customs and giving them the canada post tracking no.

I did call Canada Post customer service and the actual post office wher ehe is claiming he shipped it from. No records of the tracking number.

How long or what's the longest wait you guys had when shipping a package from canada to the us or vice versa?

I do not really mind waiting as long sa I have some solid proof that it really got shipped. But the tracking number situation is really fishy.

normal CAnada to US mail normally takes 5 days for a letter via snail mail!

Letter ya, but I've waited at least a month for packages.

But if the tracking number is invalid then something IS fishy.

As an aside, I believe there is fraud protection with eBay up to $300. You may want to check in to it and perhaps recover some of your money that way.

same happened to me, but I purchased something from someone in US. So I tried to file a charge back through my credit card and it works. I got my money back.

Before that, try the US custom. One time my friend who's stuff got hold at US custom because they are doing some "serious" check on the item..... good luck.
