Had a 1990 way back in..well 1990 and I loved it, though It was what made me know I wanted a car.
Any of you guys seen them, drive one? etc?
Interested in some feedback

Hey man....no need to be sorry...
Toyota is pumpin out some awesome stuff... 4 runner looks good, but remember its first model year. I never reccomend purchasing 1st model year cars. I usually say wait until most of the bugs are ironed out until 2nd year.
Have you checked out the latest JDPower initial qualty survey? For SUV's the top were Lexus 430 and the Escalade.
I think you would look great in an Escalade Mike. Especially with 24' chromes..
Oh BTW....in the JDP Survey S2k took the top spot for Premium sports car beating the Corvete and 911. It was 3rd last year... S2k improved very significantly complared to last year...

Vince and I are on the verge of getting Toyota Tundras!
The 4Runner is new for 2003.
The new 4.0L V6 puts out 245hp and 282lb-ft
The tried and true 4.7L V8 puts out 235hp and 320 lb-ft
Yes the hp is higher in the V6, I suspect because the compression ratio is higher than the V8, but the V8 has the torque for towing.
The V8 comes with the new 5-speed automatic.
If you like SUVs, this wil turn out to be one of the best.
But I suspect I would stay with the Acura if I were shopping for an SUV.
Good luck Mike.

For what it's worth, I've got a '97 4Runner which I bought new. It now has 133,000 miles on it. In that time, I've had to replace a rear axle seal and the clutch pedal (not the clutch). Nothing else has broken, ever! I have the original clutch, the original battery, even the original front brake pads (after 133K, they're finally due for replacing). It uses no oil and still runs like new. There are no rattles, no squeaks, no complaints.
It is by far the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. If this one ever dies, in say another 500,000 miles, I will buy another.
