I didn't really specifiy which oil I would change nor did they bother asking me.

Synthetic oils are the best, especially those that are Group IV or V like Mobil 1, Motul, Redline, Amsoil and Royal Purple. Do your oil related reading and research here:

Btw, by "hydroformed" were you referring to "hydrocracked"?
What do you mean by "fancy racing motor oil"?

It is well documented in this forum that synthetic oil is NOT recommended for young engines.
Brand = Honda
Grade = 10W30
And going by your logic that the dealer puts inferior oil in the car when you take it there for service so that the engine wears quicker...why would you go with a Honda filter...maybe that is inferior also...AND that would really lead to engine problems because it would not filter as well...
no one said DIY is not the way to go. We just asked why Castle is bad...something you still have not answered...

Once you hit 15-20K it's good to switch over to synthetic. Since I've switched over I have burnt less oil per change. And change your oil and filter well before what Honda says. It only does good tothe car, bad too your pocket. BTW you S guys should be car freaks. Do your own oil changes.

Just called Formula Honda and they charge 50.00 including labour.
I got charged 74.99 + 15 labour.
Now I am on the phone waiting for a Honda Agent to "assist" me.
