I totally agree. I had an 05 Forester XT manual before I got the S. Then sold it as I didn't need 2 toys. Bought a CR-V and it wasn't nearly as enjoyable day to day. So when Honda bought the CR-V back (failed recall) I went out and got another Forester XT but this time I bought a 2015 CVT but still way more fun than the Honda.

I also discovered if I shut the traction control off, I can get the tail end to drift out hooligan style- mind, with only 175 HP to motivate 3400 lbs, I can't get into too much trouble

ive had a few subies in my day. The newer AWD systems like yours, even if you turn off traction control the car still uses stability control and torque vectoring that you can’t switch off. I know what you mean when you say it’s hard to motivate 3400lbs I got a 2011 outback. Try to blip the throttle in the slide but be careful you can pick up speed pretty quick. The older system had no granny controls, if you think your having fun you outback try an outback from mid 2000’s ........ oooooohhh I’m missing mine just talking about it.

yeah the nanny controls never turn off I guess, I do prefer to have them than not having them, but it would be cool to be able to turn them off for the few times you want to play around.

If I didn't have such a big dent blown in my pocket from having to install a new furnace in my house, I'd be flying out to grab this in a heartbeat.

Meh... Could be a good deal... If it isn't American (cluster is set to mph), there is no rust, no accident history, and the close-up condition is good (online pictures never do justice). Driver's bolster looks worn...

It ain't my first rodeo, as they say.

I owned mine for 8 years and worked on 50+ S2000's privately and at the shop. I'm not saying anything against you, but what you listed (minus the wear on the bolster, my car had 41k when I bought it with a flattened bolster) is mostly common knowledge, of course I'd look into that before flying out to Winterpeg.

But with that said, if you can score a clean title Canadian AP2 with 100k for 20k - that's a great deal - considering I sold my mint 2002 AP1 for that price with 135k.

Glad you agree. Your heartbeats must be pretty long if you'd check all that before flying out there

Never understood the whole Canadian vs US car for the s2000 - especially pre 06 (which has the temp gauge) - There's a button on the dash that moves everything from kmph to mph or the other way around.. Outside of the sticker on your door or it coming with DRLs which is an easy fix.. who cares..

My only concern is title washing, less reliable hostory. Otherwise yeah, I don't care either. Buying myself from the states could be a good opportunity if I find one with great history, no auctions, perhaps private sale...
