^^yeah it really comes off as a new model year car.

Some people have a hard time believing my AP2 is almost 13 years old.

I think it was one of the cars that started the whole blue headlights fad. I remember my buddy getting pulled over in his my00 because the cop thought he did something to his headlights to make them blue.

To this day it still blows my mind that our car was what started the whole engine start button. So many tuners mod their cars to add that, and it is still advertised on most new cars as a convenience feature. Our car was clearly ahead of its time on many things, there's not much to throw it off as being an older car.

I always thought our start buttons were useless for the most part as you still had to turn the key ahead of pushing the button. But having stalled my car last week I found the start button to be very handy in that situation. On the street that has only happened to me a couple times, but it would be even more useful at the track.

I'm confused - what was so convenient about it when you stalled?

I find it odd you have to insert key and press a button but my co-worker's 2010 BMW has the same thing too.

i'm used to the start button on other vehicles already and love the fact that my MY01 S2K has it. However most cars with a start button have them as a START/STOP button unlike the S2000. I'm programmed in my brain to press the button to shut the car off. Imagine my surprise *zing* *pop*. I've only did that twice thankfully lol.

If you stall, the restart is easier with the start button, rather than having to reach underneath to find the keys like you would on a car that is key operated. Your left hand hits the start button your right hand stays on the shifter. On a typical key operated setup you would use your right hand to turn the key going back and forth from the shifter. That fraction of a second makes a difference on the track, or if you are stuck in an intersection, etc.

Never thought of that but you're right, it is definitely more convenient in such a situation should it ever occur.
