i'll be driving the S this winter and i know i'll need to flush out the salt every once and a while. how do you guys do it without access to a lift of some sort? and how often? i'd imagine that it's difficult to do it with the car on the ground...

Fred,
go out and get 4 jack stands, and a jack. Put the car on jack stands , you could remove the wheels if you like, grab your hose and away you go.
You will notice we are a very "hands on" when it comes to owners

ok that makes sense, i guess the height is good enough for a good hose down. it might look a little funny at a coin wash though
