Default No more insurance!

Well... got my insurance renewal... $8,500/yr. Just for the Vette.

$6,800/yr was borderline as far as I would take it to play.

I've got 5 tickets

1 No insurance card (Insurance was valid) (0 pts) (1 yr old)
4 10km/hr to 15km/hr speeding tickets (0 pts) (1-2 yrs old)
1 140km/hr in a 100km/hr zone speeding ticket (3pts) (1 yr old)

G License since 1991, insured since 1995. Currently residing in Markham.

Anyone have any brokers or insurance agents who can find me coverage for less than this?

If I can't get to the $6,500 range or better yet lower, the Z/06 is going to have to go.

Please post, pm, or give me a call if you can help.

I can understand this rate if I had many points related or serious tickets, but this is simply ridiculous. I got a quote of $5800 if I had 2 3 point tickets. Can you believe that it's the QUANTITY of the tickets that are of concern, not the actual offenses or points (in my case).

Oh well... C'est la vie.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, yes, it's the number of tickets (any speeding ticket is considered a minor offence) that matters.

Try Meloche Monnex if you're a University grad...

This is why you always try to fight the tickets and get them off fully, not just reduced.. in the eyes of the insurance companies, three 15 km/hr over or three 49 km/hr over tickets are exactly the same.

Only 1 of the tickets was reduced to a 15km/hr.

Insurance companies should only be able to penalize for points related tickets.

That would make too much sense and not enough money for the insurance companies. Fuking scammers..

I concur, you're going to be bent over either way. You might as well enjoy it.

Footing the bill neutralizes the enjoyment.
