I would suggest Kumho MX's if you're on a budget...
But actually I would suggest you take that money and do a track oriented Performance Driving school. Then you can handle (and enjoy) just about any tire.

The Kumho 712 is not that bad of a tire, but as Matrix said, pushing them on the track or autox is going to make you less happy than just using tjem for street driving, I know, I have them n my car now. The best way to describe them is 80% of the S-02 performance at 50% of the cost.
The Kumho MX is a step up from the 712, in both performance and $$$, only thing is I do not know if they have your size in 17s because of the above question and the fact that the MX is a new model and new sizes are still being developed.
Good luck.

I'd concur with Matrix,
The 712's arent bad for the street. If you're pushing them to the limit out here, you've got other problems.
Anyways, if your street rims are already heavier than stock.... you're already chopping the performance aspect so why not run the 712's if you're just stylin.
Save the serious rubber for the serious lap times.
