Default New Rubber

Ahhh this is the car I remember.

As I was going to the tire shop (thanks Mike, awesome place) I took an onramp pretty hard and I finnally had the tires go "greasy" on me. I didn't come close to losing it, but you could certainly feel the tires had seen better days.

Now it feels like a new car again, drove it like an old woman home and put the car on jackstands over night to let the tires rest. It'll be nice to wear them out again I guess

When the tread goes...replace the tires

just curious, what kind and size did you get?

I've been thinking about S03's with a slightly larger size.

I got OEM S02's.

Mike and Bonk both got S03's to try them and they didn't like them. I drove Mikes car when he got the S03's and I really didn't like them...just didn't feel right around the corners.

If you check out the tirerack forum you might get a better picture of what people are saying.

I love the S02's. I don't have a problem with them in the wet and they work like they are supposed to for this car. Not cheap and don't last long (I swear I will make them last longer this time!!!) but they work the way I want them to.

Do you mind telling us how much you paid, and how long they lasted, and where you got them from?

Actually in respect to the deal and to Mike I won't post pricing publically, I will say the price was very reasonable. And better than I could get up here.

The rears lasted me nearly 10k...but thats with a lot (I mean a whole lot) of spirited driving, especially twisties. I need to stop doing the Salamander 5 times a week

I picked up a new set of Rubber for my Civy yesterday. 205-40-17 Potenza RE-950. I also went to the guy Mike reccomended. All I can say is that im very satisfied. Id reccomend if anyone in the T.O. club is looking for tires to give Mike (Mindcore) a PM. He will steer you in the right direction.

Thanks Mike!

Mike,

Is your tire guy at Steelecase Tires? A friend of mine is one of the owners and I going to be getting some new OEM rears from him. I am driving like a grandma on slicks now. I was in town this past weekend but could not spare the time to get new tires on the S. I am not coming back into town until the long weekend. I'll just have to putter around for a couple of more weeks here in Ottawa.
