1. not difficult at all.
2. vtec outta every corner at every opportunity a tank of 94 oct approx 400kms
3. really no common issues. Beat the car to death everyday and it keeps coming back for more. You won't find any better reliability.
service issues on your own ? matters how technically savy you are, otherwise familiarize yourself with shops like Speedstar, Pecaso, Defcon-Racing, Element Autoworks..
4. winter driving is quite easy with 4 good snow tires. Why not drive it all year. Search for Xviper's post on winter driving. Its fun and easy. If you like, this winter come by my area, i have some back roads where you can practice with nice run off area :-)

overall - you can do the absolute basic minimum maintenance oil and fluids and beat this car hard every day and it'll be fine.. Remember to keep those Rev's up.. Gear down as much as possible and if your is new, don't worry about that 1000kms break in bullsht.. VTEC from day one and you'll be fine !!

Good answers all.

1 - Snow/cold = Snows

2 - Gas = yes give me more. (About 400km on a tank)

4 - Hard Top + Snow = Yes get one. Don't bother with the big bucks after market ones. Look for a used oem, then repaint if necessary. You will not want the thing on that much anyway, so go cheap.

5 - Yes. Change it early - Change it often

6 - This is going to be my 1st year driving it in winter, but I'm an old bugger so RWD is old school to me anyway. Should be fun.

7 - I've got a glass rear window, so I'm of no value hear.

8 - Look out for our pet Sasquach in a Tron Suit.
leave it to tim to provide 8 answers when only 4 questions were asked.

how's the kitchen? jew done yet?

Thank you for all your replies! As I stated in my first post, chances are I'll be getting a used one... most likely a 2000/2001 model with hopefully 50k kms or under on the odo. Will hopefully start looking for the vehicle as soon as my bike is sold.

I've looked briefly on Autotrader and noticed that not many vehicles have high mileage, which is a good thing when buying, but I'm curious about longevity. The F20C seems to be fairly high strung (I borrowed one for 3 days a few years back and loved it)... a few of you said it'll take the beating and keep asking for more, but do many of you have more than 100k kms? What I'm trying to ask is, having gone through a civic and an integra gsr with 275k kms and still taken to the track, is this car just as bulletproof as those other hondas? Or will it require more TLC because it's high strung?

Sorry for the million+ questions, but I'm sure it's obvious that if I'm out to get an s2k, that it's gonna be a keeper.

Thanks again!
~Eddie

It really depends on how much you abuse the car for and how well the car was maintained while it was owned by the previous owner I'd say...

Too many factors thus your question is really hard to answer...

But from what I've read and heard s2000s are pretty damn durable in comparison to Civics and other long lasting cars as one of my friends is still driving his first owned s2000 at 150k km...2000... no modifications what-so-ever if you're wondering... he just drives it daily from Markham to work Downtown...

As long as you maintain it right (which most people do anyways...) it should be alright...

140k kms?? wow, not bad. I wonder if anyone passed the 200k mark... shouldn't be too hard for a daily driven 2000 model, huh? Anyhow, thanks again for all the replies. I was looking at my other car options and seeing as insurance for an ITR and RSX Type-S is the same for an S, it's obvious I should pick up an S.
