Default New Etest with Stand alones...

So.. In the next little while I'll probably be picking up an AEM EMS. First reason would be for a tune for headers, test pipe and 70mm exhaust. Down the road I'll be going ITBs.

From what I'm finding on the new etest, it simply goes by CEL codes that has popped up. But if I would have an Aem Ems, I won't be logging any etest related codes.

So would I totally be wasting my time if I would attempt an ETest with ITBs, TP, and a stand alone?

Yup. For a NA car like yours then it would be an easy unplug EMS and plug in OEM ecu. You would also need to let the OEM ecu relearn before going for the Etest

Damn, how the hell are you going to get an ETest then, lol.

Could you unplug hte EMS, and "limp" it over with a Turbo? Hahaha

No it's not that simple, you need to drive around for a few days at regular speeds and conditions. The ECU must pass the OBD readiness checks in order to pass drive clean.

There is a petition going on somewhere online to drop wresting all together since its totally outdated and a huge cash grab.

Wondering what advantages the standalone has over Kpro, because as far as I understand Kpro passes new emissions no problem.

Price and O2 feedback to the ecu.
