Default NEC C616 Video Phone in Canada?

I was browsing for a new phone in HK and saw this NEC's 3G phone that have face to face video conferencing function - also able to play videos such as MTV's, live NEWS etc...
However, it is only dual band for Asia only right now and it is in the $4K HKD range...
Are there any similar phones in Canada???

Vince, did you get one for free yet?
Tell them you broke yours, and get them to send you another one so I can buy it off you cheap hehe

Can't use it here yet. If you see an EDGE phone lemme know.

I can't get one yet but its coming.

I got an EDGE card to test on Friday when I met with Rogers..its damn fine technology.

UMTS is not new, it stands for Universal Mobile Telecommunications Systems.

Affa, go here to learn more about 3G, UMTS or EDGE.

BTW, affa - I have been using this at home for a awhile. I can also call up video trailers on my pc from my SIP phone . That is just a small part of the functionality..... SIP rizocks

Vince,

You have some connections in the world of wireless I presume? Right now I'm using Bell's Audiovox Thera. Great PDA but phone capabilities are mediocre given the fact that it uses it's own "Watcher" software and not Windows own version.

Any word on which provider in Canada has a good wireless PDA style phone? Something on which I can use MSN and surf the 'net would be great also.

Let me know your thoughts.

Asif

3G, here in HK, is getting bad bad reviews.

that NEC phone was 4k, now you can get for 12xx if you sign a 1 or 1.5 yr contract.

other 3 g phones like the motorola a8xx (forgot the exact model) are 400 bucks HKD.. if you sign a 1 yr contract...

and the phone comp already admit they are loosing $$$...
