Is the front of the bumper cut?

I personally liked the AEM V1. I switched out the filter for a dry filter. There's a few things you can do to prevent/stop hydro-locking with this intake.

Congrats on the purchase, pretty fair price and AP2 wheels are a nice upgrade.

Yah, there is a front bumper cut out. Should I get the hydroshield? I didn't see a bypass valve.

Congrats on the purchase. Personally I'd get rid of that aem intake and get a k&n fipk or comptech/CT engineering intake. You could make an "umbrella" for the aem filter but I don't think there is much if any difference in HP gains between them... Or do as kryptonite said. Best option by far

Is the intake just the end air filter part? I think I want to keep the CAI, but I'm looking for options to stop hydrolock.

Ghetto but it works. Oh so it is from the top. I was more worried about water coming in from the whole in the bumper.

I was thinking of going the by pass valve route, but maybe thats for when it is submerged?

You do not want the AEM angled up. This is how most hydrolocks happen, it builds up water in the elbow and when you start your car it's game over.

You want it straight or even pointing down slightly to avoid and water build-up.

Or go with a Comptech/FIPK, less headaches but doesn't sound as aggressive as AEM

Oh so the comptech and fipk have some sort of anti water thing?
