"If you do a search, you'll see that this is not that uncommon. Though I've never heard of the EPS light coming on twice in a row. I don't know the reason for it coming on, but it's happened twice to me in nearly two years of ownership. All you should have to do is turn the engine off and start it again. I can understand your worry, though. It's a brand new $33,000 car and it shakes your confidence. Who said that Japanese cars don't have character?
Seriously though, don't worry about it too much unless it happens again soon/often.
Here's an excerpt from the Owner's Manual:
EPS: Electric Power Steering Indicator
This light normally comes on when you turn the ignition ON and goes off after the engine starts. If it comes on at any other time, there is a problem in the Electric Power Steering system. If this happens, stop the car in a safe place and turn off the engine. Reset the system by restarting the engine, and watch the EPS light. If it does not go off, or comes back on again while driving, take the car to your dealer to have it checked. With the light on, the EPS is turned off, making the car harder to steer. "

Did you light reset after you turned the car off and restarted? If not maybe check your fuses or try removing the battery terminal to reset anything that may have caused the code. If the light is still there you obviously have a problem. You can also check the plugs that plug into the steering rack to make sure they havnt come loose or have corrosion perhaps....There is one on the steering rack by the drivers side and the other is directly on top of the steering rack in the middle. They are both accessable from the top of the car and are real easy to get to if you have an aftermarket intake. Other than that the EPS control module is a small box with i believe a showa sticker on the passenger side under the hood beside the battery. You could check to make sure the connectors from that havnt come undone.
Apart from these quick inspections if your problem is still present im afraid you might be making a trip to honda
