My 2005 F1 Predictions, the mayem starts in Oz
2005 F1 Predictions, the madness starts this weekend in Australia folks !!
Notable Rules:
All cars must get to the end of the race on the same set of tires.
All engines must last 2 race weekends.
Sunday Qualifying will determine the grid
Ferrari:
Again, it's always harder to defend, but this year they may be fallible.
If Bridgestone make a better compound, than Michelin, it's ooooooooovverrrrrrrrrrr, give the title to Michael for the 8th time pls :-)
Won't see the new car till Magny-Cours.
Don't expect Barrichello to amount to anything AGAIN.
Bullshit of the season:
Barrichello claiming he can challenge Michael this year for the championship.
Jenson claiming he'll be looking down on Michael from top podium spot.
Villeneuve thinking he can move Sauber up the grid
Ralf Schumacher thinking he can do at Toyota what his brother did at Ferrari back in 1996
BAR-Honda:
Consistent mid gridders as they no longer have the luxury of Friday practice sessions w/ Davidson
Their loss of David Richards, their new tech director, new management, new infusion of management from greater Honda ownership will
pull the team into disarray.
The v10 may not last 2 race weekends.
Sato's erratic driving may burn his michelin's out before race end
I give JB and Sato podium finishes at most
McLaren:
My pick to take the championship either by JPM or Kimi
It's a do or die year for Kimi and McLaren as Ron looks further towards retiring and selling the team to Mercedes. We'll see the greatest battles between these two teammates at times.
I think McLaren have finally turned the corner, but they will be a one year wonder due to Ron Dennis' retirement and sale of the team issue.
Renault:
Suprise of the season with a Fisi win and an Alonso win
Their key will be to hold onto Flav as Toyota have made him a considerable offer he has the entire season to think about.
Williams:
A slow start but will turn it around mid season with Webber surprising
Heidfeld will amount to nothing
Sauber:
Even with the best wind tunnel in the world won't elevate this team to a win.
They are a team distracted by the contractual agreement of the BMW take over for 2006
Villeneuve will score consistent points in mid grid.
Massa will amount to nothing
Red Bull:
DC will pull off one surprise podium of the year
Klein , will amount to nothing
Toyota:
RS or Trulli will pull off one suprised podium , but i'm afraid both will struggle against the Sauber's in the mid grid.
Expect catastrophic changes again this year from management, drivers etc.
Jordan/Midland:
Consistent backmarkers with a aging ford-cosworth and lack of experience will prove them in front of the minardi's
They will be mobile chicanes, interrupting or blocking a fast lap from another driver
Minardi:
More of the same, amounting to nothing for both drivers.
The only impact they will have will be interrupting or blocking a fast lap from another driver and team boss Stoddart insulting Ferrari over the concorde agreement during race weekend press conferences every chance he gets.
Best Battle of the season:
Montoya vs Kimi
Suprises of the season:
A Fisichella win for Renault
An Alonso win for Renault
A DC podium for Red Bull
A Trulli or R. Schumacher Toyota podium
Sato qualifying second on the grid some point this year
Australian GP:
Ferrari will win if Bridgestone give them good rubber, but I count them out for the next 2 races as Michelin's will have upper hand
Predicted Results
1.Schumacher
2. Alonso/Fisichella
3. Montoya

Hey, I agree with you on everything except for JV being a consistent points getter. Winter testing has shown that he is way off the pace and I can only see him getting a small handful of points this season. Another disappointing (and final) year for Villeneuve. He will get dropped by Sauber after this year.
Go Montoya!
Go Montoya!

He has come in 2nd place consecutively....only beaten by the best driver in the world.....
If he isn't doing anything, I guess everyone behind him shouldn't be driving.....

if and when he does "fastest lap" after "fastest lap" then will the folks become believers..
if and when he passes schumacher in a race, then will the folks become believers, and hell will freeze over
I would have replaced him long time ago with a "hungrier" driver

the last 5 laps of the race have the potential of being a "free for all" due to burned out tires..
be like driving in the wet on bald s02's
