for the prices, it's ok. and it does the job. at the end, you get what you pay for.
snap on should be the best one but is super expensive

I didn't like it and returned it.
I ended up going to princess auto and getting a power fist one for a lot cheaper and it worked better

I have had both (the big and small one) from the mastercraft regular series and they have worked well with no problems. should be fine for the shadetree mechanic. I know the powerfist stuff sucks, I wouldnt trust their torque wrench to do a good job. I had been through a few of them and finally I said **** it when I was torqueing my lugs one day and the thing just exploded when a few screws popped out.
i have the MC regular one and its great.
my powerfist breaker bar even broke.

Works everytime, yes it's a quarter the price, but it also did a better job then the MC regular one and clicks accurately and it doesn't slip at the torque point.
I've used it about 50+ times now and it hasn't given me 1 problem
Kim, the reason you broke the breaker bar is because your huge, you need one made from kryptonite
I'm telling you what worked for ME and what didn't. I could of had a bad MC one and a good powerfist one.
Personally I like Husky and Snap-On, but unless you need to do this day in and day out like a mechanic, I wouldn't fork over $120+ for a torque wrench.

For an over the counter tool I like my Craftsmen from Sears best regardless of price. The MC's are decent for the money. I usually buy tools from Princess Auto whenever I need something for a one-time use knowing I likely won't need to use them a second time.
Anybody want to buy a 1/2 drive dial indicator torque wrench, old school baby !, mint condition, professional quality. I love it but I've got torque wrenches coming out of my ears. PM me for pics.
I even some cheap bar style wrenches that I'll never use, I should just toss those in the garbage.
