I've used this one for a couple years on hundreds of bolts and never had an issue, it is 30-250 inch lbs, which is about 2.5-21 ft lbs. , you need to divide by 12 to arrive at foot pound settings.
I also have the MC 20-250 ft lbs torque wrench, it works good on higher settings but I don't feel that it is accurate on the lower range, so I just use it on higher settings like wheel lug torque (80 ft lbs), and axle nuts (220 ft lbs) etc.... .
I have a Craftsmen Sears torque wrench for medium settings which I really like, I would recommend this torque wrench over any other, it's a great piece.
I have a really cool dial torque wrench that can read torque in forward and backward motions, but I never use it anymore as it is a bit bulky and you need to be in a position to read it all the time, old school torque wrench that is a cool piece.

I didn't like it and returned it.
I ended up going to princess auto and getting a power fist one for a lot cheaper and it worked better

To keep it as accurate as possible always turn down the torque setting to 20 after each use, and don't use it for removal of bolts/lugs, only for tightening. Use a breaker bar or other tool for removal of bolts/lugs. I also store mine indoors.

I have had both (the big and small one) from the mastercraft regular series and they have worked well with no problems. should be fine for the shadetree mechanic. I know the powerfist stuff sucks, I wouldnt trust their torque wrench to do a good job. I had been through a few of them and finally I said **** it when I was torqueing my lugs one day and the thing just exploded when a few screws popped out.
