I am in the same boat. I love my job because of the duties and people but I have reached my max at this company. I am the only I.T. Administrator here. I am thinking about looking for another job but am kinda scared because I don't know if the people would be the same, different atmosphere, seniority is lost, new location, I would have to listen to others, etc.... I am confused on what to do.

You see this crap everywhere. My previous job at Electrosonic I was denied a product manager position due to my age. (24 at the time). I wasn't going to bother applying until a couple other product managers asked me to and suggested to higher management they ask me if I would be interested. I was more than qualified for the job so I applied. They said I didn't meet the age requirement and the boob they did hire (internally) always came to me for technical questions anyhow.

age/gender/race/religious disposition should not come into play.
