Default Loud POP noise at slow speeds

Anyone have any experience with this?

Loud "pop" or "clunk" noise mostly heard when the car is rolling down my driveway before a drive or coming back up it after a drive. It can also be heard randomly when coming to a stop while normally driving, but rare. Mainly heard at low speeds whether the car is going straight or turning and mostly over a hump or bump where the weight shifts but also heard going straight and coming to a stop..

This is a sharp sound that can be once or twice in succession during those conditions. Nothing when the car id diving at normal speed. This is not the same noise as when the brake pads are stuck to the rotors after a wash. It comes after the car has already made it halfway down the driveway. I know there were a lot of technical bulletins for early AP1s and I am researching them now. Just wondering if anyone knows about this issue.

If I had to guess where the noise is coming from I would say right front side or front middle.

(Another weird fact is once I was changing the oil and I had the car jacked up. As the car went up there were a lot of loud pops as it was going up. When I was done, I set the car down again and went for a drive and that was the ONLY time I didn't hear the pop. It came back a week later though.)

Does it happen mainly right after the car has moved backwards?

Yes, after the car is started and rolling back out of my driveway. First pop will be when I have the breaks applied rolling slowly down and again when the car goes over the bump at the end of the driveway. Also when going up the driveway after a drive and sometimes, but rarely, when driving and coming to a stop.

If so, I guess I'll just get new lower control arms.I don't have any decent shops near me to press in new bushings if that is the problem.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions so quickly... is it coming from the front or the rear of the car? Try to replicate the noise while having someone outside the car listening for it. Identify where it's coming from.

Check for loose control arm bolts.

I had the same issue and found a rear upper A arm bolt loose.

I then checked every bolt on the car and found many out of spec.

I also put a drop of red paint on the thread and nut, where possible.

Then it is easy to see if a bolt has started to auto-rotate.

Noise sounds like coming from front right.

Get someone outside, have them crunch down nice and close to the car to pinpoint exact location.

Seems like someone else is having the same problem here: https://www.s2ki.com/...8#entry23235508

I guess I'll have a local Honda tech inspect it for the compliance bushing and any loose bolts.
