Default Looking for advice. Buying a car in the States.

Hey guys, just looking for some advice, if anyone has a good suggestion on sending money to the U.S. to buy a car. Because of COVID, im not going to be crossing the border. So I'm wondering if there are ways to send money in a large amount to buy a car from a private seller that is safe and secure?

Thanks in advance

Sounds risky, if they were a dealer I'd say credit card as you can always reverse the charge for fraud. Paypal offers some protection but the claims process isn't 100% guaranteed, but better than wiring money or sending money orders or e-transfers etc.

When I bought my first S stateside, I sent a bank draft by priority mail by USPS.
Of course with COVID, I'd speak to your bank about a safe way of sending money.

Probably the smart idea here with such a large sum.

Wire transfer is going to be your best bet to get a substantial amount of cash sent to someone, with that said there's no real options that keep you protected as a buyer outside of buying the car in person.

The safest is always Direct Wire bank to bank. There is a fee, I think TD charges $50 but you know it will be good.

It would be great if you could get someone, maybe a member on this forum that is local to this car and owner, that would be willing to check out both, and give you their impressions.

Well I think the OP's question was about payment method. For any type of payment method, there is equal amount of risk when it comes to seller trust.
If that's an issue, your better off finding a brokerage service, but you'll have to pay for that.
