I've never tried Malaysian food. Shane, what type of food is it? Is it similar to chinese, thai, etc?

ok, let's set up a dinner 2 weeks out....
for chinese, i prefer Chung King on Spadina....i *think* it's the oldest chinese rest. in TO....and yes the staff are grumpy and don;t speak a lick of english...and it's filthy in there...but the food is to die for.
for something a little more commercialized - but always a great experience nontheless - nothing beats Lichee Gardens.
indian...i'm always partial to The Host - they have uptown and downtown locations, so it's also convenient from that standpoint.
for down and drity indian food, nothing beats Lahore...but it's run by a bunch of muslims, so it's not licensed and the ambience - well, let's just say there isn't any.
marta, jay says you're fat....

How long ago did you go? It's been absolute crap in the last few years since the change in management a few years back. Best place right now is Restoran Malaysia at Bayview/Major Mac. The decor is kinda ghetto but the food more than makes up for it.
I haven't been going out for different foods much lately and I miss that. Plus its always best to go with a bunch of people and at least one insider, that way you get to try lots of stuff.
