how much does it cost to replace a set of bearings? would stuff like this be covered under the extended warranty?

Well I didn't expect any warranty coming to Ideal today except for asking for prices. But the service manager suggest that it is covered under the normal 5/100 warranty and I should bring it in, so I agreed.

As for the prices I can tell you this much, bearing are around $95/bearing and the hub is expensive @ $165/piece.

We'll see what happens tomorrow when I bring my car in

good luck.

btw, is your car lowered or have bigger / heavier rims+tires? do you think that would play a part in having those parts fail prematurely?

My car is lowered, but from what I searched from this site it seems like this is independent of why the bearing failed. Most folks who are 100% stock are having their bearings gone at 13k - 80k so I don't think it's the lowering that did it this time.
