Jordan GP has been sold
A consortium called Midland F1 has purchased the Jordan Grand Prix Team from Eddie Jordan.
The Midland F1 team, which is backed by Russian billionaire, Canadian born Alex Shnaider has officially inked the deal in acquiring the Jordan GP F1 team for 2005.
It comes as no surprise, as EJ and his "fledgling" F1 team have become consistent backmarkers since '99. Its hard to believe that back in '98 they finished 3rd in the constructors due to some brilliant drives by Heinz Harald Frentzen. Different sport back then. I'm sad to see EJ gone after '05, as after all he was the man that gave Michael Schumacher his entrance into F1.
JORDAN GRAND PRIX will compete in the 2005 FIA Formula 1 World Championship with cars to be known as the Jordan-Toyota EJ15s. They will run re-branded Toyota engines.
Eddie Jordan will stay involved with the team and will be spending his time working on commercial and sponsorship matters but the team will be owned by the Midland group from Russia and will become known as Midland F1 at the end of the year.
I wonder why the Chinese consortium that was supposed to buy the team pulled out ?
Russian GP here we come in a few years with an aggressive search for a Russian driver as well.
Rumours swirling about the money to do so, will come from Russian kingpins and underworld czars.
Come 2006 they are looking at their own Dallara Chassis which is a branch of Lamborghini and Maserati.
So look out for Ferrari infusion ? Look out for Lamborghini possibly re-entering F1 in '06 ?
Hmm ? will be interesting end of 2005 season.
Any Russian drivers out there ? go to London now for a test drive

So what does the Midland Group do? They're a TO based company ... They could probably use a liason for the new F1 dept.
