Default Insurance Question.... I am getting HOSED!!!!!

Hey everyone,

Has there been a HUGE hike in insurance rates this year?!?!? I just got my quote and IGN is quoting me 357 per MONTH!!!!! That is crazy!! I have had no speeding tickets in the last 7 years and only one claim 5 years ago that was non-accident. My rate has jumped by more that 1000 over last year. Can someone refer me to a company that deals in reality please. I almost had a heart attack. FYI I am single and 30.

My car got stolen 2 years ago and the insurnace company assured me since they broke into my house and got the keys my rate would not go up. (it did not last year)

Thanks,

Mark

Your rates should not go up as a result of theft. Atleast, thats what my insurance told me when my Type R was stolen. The only thing that usually changes is that you may have to go with a higher deductible.

357 is crazy!! Try cheiftain insurance, they're pretty good for people with a good record. You can do a quote online. www.chieftain.ca

Good luck.

Try Meloche Monnex. I'm 25, have 2 speeding tickets, 1 accident and am only paying $2100 per year! Mind you, a lot of that is due to the area I live in - but give them a call. The only thing is you have to be a University grad - they only do group rates which is why they're so cheap. Cheers.

If you dont' like the hassle of shopping yourself, you can try to get a broker to do the quote for you. They usually deal with more than 5 different insurance co.s so it's just one call for several companies.
But yeah, try Monnex first. Heard they've got the best rate this year.
