depending on the value and/or age of your car, i'd ditch collision coverage too......
you're only gonna be without coverage if it's YOUR FAULT.....a not-at-fault collision will still be covered...
i'm gonna take it off the BMW once my renewal hits in april. hell, i may even take it off the honda soon....

^ I had that happen to me on the 404. I was in the middle. I made all 3 involved come to the collision reporting center and made sure the stories were correct. The person I hit acknowledged it was not my fault and the person who hit me admitted to fault.
No way was I getting screwed for that incident.

that's fine for 100% not your fault, but for a scenario where you are in the middle car of a 3 car collision where the rear car rams you hard enough into the guy in front of you... technically you are not at fault because you didn't cause it but if there are no witnesses (it can be argued that you were too close to the guy in front while stopped and thus it could've been avoidable), you can be partially blamed for it then what?
i haven't made a meaningful claim in WELL over a decade (had a small comp claim with the audi)....
no one would take off collision, comp., theft or whatever thinking that something bad's going to happen....

^ hey as long as you are betting man then go for it!
but c'mon ... u have cars that are worth $80k combined (in replacement value) and u r just gonna take that off to save at most $2g's a year? (unless u have a helluva bad driving record) the #s just don't seem to work for my context, i guess.
J: well that's a bit of luck on your side that all those involved ganged up to lay blame on the last car -- but sometimes there are people that just aren't willing to help out, then you are really gonna get shafted. like you said, shit happens.

I just have to be sure not to crash into someone....but if someone crashes into ME, fvck 'em!!!!!!!
PS. multiply $2K savings a year over 2, 3, 4, 5 years.....you too could have yourself a nice, neat supercharger.

reading from my policy for the BMW and S2000 combined (benz has its own policy since it's a lease).
total policy: $1,975
collision with $1K ded.: $504 (honda) + $433 (BMW) = $937
