Nimesh, this is how it works on an S2000:

Crankshaft is connected to transmission.

6 speeds + reverse. Your first 4 gears are lower than ours, 5,6 are the same.

Then in the transmission, there is another reduction gear after. Yours is shorter than ours. This is where the lower gearing on the 04 comes from.

Then from there it goes to the rear diff, where you have the same ratio as us.

marco/rob.....if what rob says is true, then why not just change the reduction gear???

That is definitely one way to go. But you have to pull your transmission and then split it open to change that gear.

A serious pain in the ass, but doable.

Give me the stock gear ratios and I can plug them into my spreadsheet and let you know.

Not that expensive....not saying your going to change this every weekend, but if you did decide it's too much, you not looking at a lot of money.

You got this backwards...first 4 are the same, last 2 are slightly lower. His reduction gear is also different.

I am 95% sure that it is in the transmission...not and easy change like the final gear.
