Default Hood Dampers (Struts)

Hey all,

Want to install a pair of hood dampers (struts) on my '02.

Looking hard at the Science of Speed model EPP-1751 which sells for $204.50US plus shipping.

http://www.scienceofspeed.com/produc.../hood_dampers/

The NRG look OK too. http://www.evasivemotorsports.com/mm...ct_Code=HD-140 at $116.99US plus shipping.

Any thoughts?

I have the nrg ones. They work decent and easy enough to install. Only thing that sucks about pretty much all of them is they are a two piece design and screw together in the middle. My nrg ones eventually failed at this point on the one side and leaked gas. Nrg never responded to sending a replacement shock either...

I have the SOS dampers. I only have had them a year so I can't in fairness say how good they are long term. Simple install and perfect fitment.

it looks like they put some thought into designing the SOS struts compared to the mounting systems of other brands. I'd spend the extra money if it got me a better working part.

I have the tein hood dampers. My only complaint is is that once I unlock the hood, it doesnt automatically pop up, you sort of have to give it the initial jerk and then it functions like it should.

The paint seems to chip quite easily off the body as well.

Thanx y'all.

Ordered a set of SS brake lines while I was there.

Will post photos of the install.

Cheers,

RB

Looking forward to hearing how you like the clutch.
I've a feeling there is a new clutch in my car's future.
