hey guys, I'm having an issue with my transmission. It seems like when i shift from gear to gear its like my foot is half way off the clutch pedal and the gears are grinding when i'm trying to put her into gear, even though i have my foot all the way down to the floor. Now I doubt its the clutch cause it grabs really well. I was thinking more along the lines of the syncro's gone bad. Have any of you had or heard of this problem? You all were a great help to me with the vibration on acceleration. input please

if it just started out of the blue and it is happening in all gears I'd suspect the clutch master cylinder, if it has been going on for a while and getting worse then it's the transmission. I doubt you would have synchros going bad all at one time though.

See if your clutch MC is leaking down inside the cabin around the clutch rod and pedal area. Check the condition of your clutch fluid to see if it is clean and if the clutch reservoir is dirty. Sometimes just changing the clutch fluid and cleaning up the reservoir can stop the issues, but if it is too far gone then the mc may need replacing. Lastly check the clearance on the clutch rod, if it is too much lengthen the rod and close up the clearance to less than 1/4 inch.

How's the transmission fluid ?, last time it was changed ?.

Try adjusting the clutch pedal rod. There is a write-up by Billman in the forums somewhere...

Hey Killin9, I had a similar problem you had 3 years ago, try checking clutch oil level. I simply add clutch oil, after that my clutch pedal feel back to normal and shifting perfectly.

i put more fluid in the res. seemed to have made it slightly easier.. i'll check the master tomorrow..
