got a ticket for 60km on 50km!?

got a ticket for 60km on 50km!?
what should i do? fight it?
I currently have 7 dermit points taken off on my record......... although this 60 on 50 doesn't have a dermit devalue..... my insurance will definitely take this into account once this is convicted.
As the officer gave me the ticket.. he told me not to show up to court and just pay for it .. or he will up my speeding to a higher #.!?#$#@$!? he told me just to pay for it ...... is that something he can do? threathen me?
anyone know the ins and outs of the traffic law?
help me out guys.... thanks

Fight the ticket no matter what...he wants you to pay up because hes to lazy to go to court. Pig would rather sit in a Timmys and stuff his mouth full of boston creme doughnuts.

they can....there will be a notation on the ticket - this indicates that it has been reduced already....it's a courtesy gesture so as not to waste the cops and courts time.
it REALLY pisses them off when you go to fight a "reduced" ticket.

he saw my record and asked me politely why i have 7 points taken off... then he said if he gave me this ticket for 72 over it would be total of 10 and i wouldn't be able to drive this car anymore........ so he said he'll see what he can do for me.. so he dropped it to 60 ... so then he said don't show up at court or i'll raise it to 72 .........

You got caught, the cop is being a nice guy. It looks like it could cost you a lot more. I've been nailed for doing well over 90MPH and got a ticket for 10 over in a 70. I paid it, because he had me. ($140 USD & 2pts on the license)
