I've got an iPod too, and was contemplating how best to use it in the S2k. There is actually a few posts about this in the Electronics forum. Search for ipod or icelink. Denon puts out the icelink, which is super expensive, but lets the stock HU think the iPod is a CD changer. All the stock controls work fine, and it uses the line out so sound quality is great (so I've read). I'm thinking about it.. group buy maybe?

I purchased a Sonic Blue RIO RIOT a while ago. 20Gig hard drive. Much cheaper than the IPOD but I had to find a better music manager than Real Audio.

The IPOD is a class act. They really know how to support a product with innovative add on's.

Tried mine with the FM modulator with little success. In the country where FM radio is not strong the modulator worked not badly but the sound is still FM quality. In the city, local FM interference can cause problems and force you to retune often.

I also tried the Cassette adapter in another vehicle with terrible sound quality.

I bought a PIE AUX input converter from:
http://store.myradiostore.com/xmfanstore/

About $50US

You can also find it at:
http://www.logjamelectronics.com/piehonaux.html
but the people at MyRadioStore will ship to Canada with less trouble. Came by FedEx.

The sound quality of the AUX input converter is also much better.

Bmw has now a direct link for the Ipod. It integrates the controls with the stock buttons on the steering wheel. Fricken cool.

Actually Dave, the stock HU is fine with an amp and some decent speakers. Infact I'm sure it could even drown out your Invidia if I turned up the volume.

The only downside is having to tote all them damn CD's around.
