if the panel is not original, there is still a VIN sticker, but it just says DOT. My hood has one of these

Otherwise VIN stickers don't really fall off on their own. Well I guess they could but I have yet to see this. But even if it's not an original panel who cares. If it lines up, paint matches and looks original it's good with me.
