glasses/spectacles/4 eyes/nerd wear
my former pair of prescription glasses flew out of the car while driving 2 days ago (don't know why it wasn't on my head at the time)
i'm about to plunge in and order 3-4 pairs (of prescription glasses) on clearlycontacts.ca
anyone got any relevant experience/feedback in regards to clearlycontacts or ordering glasses online?! they're a legitimate canadian company
my prescription should be around -3.00 or so (getting an eye exam again this friday before ordering)
i know an accurate PD is important
but in terms of lens thickness, i'm lost
FREE
1.50 Standard Lens
Recommended for Prescriptions from 0 to -2.00
+$24.95
Light Durable 1.59 Polycarbonate Lenses
Recommended for Prescriptions from 0.00 to -4.00
+$39.95
Thin 1.61 Index Lenses
Recommended for Prescriptions from 0.00 to -6.00
+$64.95
Thin 1.67 High Index Lenses
Recommended for Prescriptions from -2.00 to -8.00
+$99.95
Ultra Thin 1.74 High Index Lenses
Recommended for Prescriptions over -6.00
---
since i should be in the -3.00 range (assumption, since i was -2.5 when I was last tested 6-7 years ago), is it imperative to get a 'Light Durable 1.59 Polycarbonate Lenses' or can i stick to the standard free 1.50 Lens. i'm not too familiar with this but i'm assuming the 1.59 should be thinner/lighter?! are there any other advantages that i should be aware of. i'm not too concerned if it looks thicker and uglier but rather if the standard 1.50 lens would be more 'detrimental' to the eye/cause eyestrain/headaches in any manner.
also, should i select shipping with FedEx overnight or Canada Post Priority?!
don't mean to sound like a punk but i am not interested in any lectures re: dangers with ordering prescription glasses online/how i should support local optometrist stores/how optical store owners can't afford to feed latrell sprewell's children because of this online optical market
thanks in advanced! greatly appreciated

Not an expert but the type of lens will depend on the frame. If the frame is thin wire, I'd recommend a high index lens which is essentially thinner at the edges. If you are buying a poly frame, then a lower index lens would be fine as the frame should cover the lens thickness.

all 3 pairs came in today (1 ltede, 1 ck, 1 gucci), took 1 week cuz the half frames naturally take longer to produce. spent <$110
110% satisfaction, csr was a sweetheart and input some 25% off discount + free overnight priority fedex shipping
don't get hustled at your local optical stores and pay 300$+
